As part of my internship I get technology to try out from time to time and recently I received the Samsung Gear 360 Virtual Reality camera. Â I took it with me to Grafton Notch State park this weekend to try out the time lapse function.
It works really well. Â I just set it on time lapse and set it down to let it run. Â When I was done I just used the gear 360 app. which is free on Google play, Â to stitch it all together and then downloaded the video to my phone. Â It was really easy and came out great.
The camera also is equipped with two 15-megapixel cameras. Each lens can be used to shoot 180-degree photos and videos.
Both the lenses can be used together to shoot 25.9-megapixel 360-degree photos at a resolution of 7776 x 3888 pixels. The 360-degree videos recorded by it carry a resolution of 3840 x 1920 pixels. If you aren’t familiar with resolution sizes that is a really huge picture.  It could be blown up really big and never notice the difference in quality.
The camera also has continuous normal video capture as well.
I uploaded my video to Youtube so I could display it in this blog but it can also be shared on Facebook which I did also. Â I am willing to bet that with the VR headset it would look as if you are at the waterfall.
